We Are the Champions! City of Liverpool Rotary Club Wins the District Quiz 2025-2026

What a result! We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the City of Liverpool Rotary Club has won the District Quiz for 2025-2026, and what a competition it was!

A huge and heartfelt congratulations to our magnificent quiz trio: Keith Housley, Glyn Mon Hughes, and Andrew Kellaway. You made us all incredibly proud!

A Competition Like No Other!

This wasn't just any quiz win, this was a hard-fought, nail-biting triumph in one of the most competitive District Quizzes in recent memory. With 44 teams from 41 clubs across the District taking part, the standard was exceptionally high from the very first round with the numbers telling their own remarkable story. An incredible ten teams finished level on tied scores, and just four points separated the top four teams. Four points! In a competition of that scale and quality, it doesn't get any closer than that. To come out on top in those circumstances makes our team's achievement all the more amazing.

The quiz is no sprint, it's a marathon. Played out across three rounds in two-monthly slots throughout the Rotary year, teams need consistency, knowledge, and nerve in equal measure. Round One takes place in October and November, Round Two in December and January, and Round Three in February and March, with the competition concluding before Easter. With more than 50% of clubs in the District already taking part, the District Quiz is one of Rotary's most popular and well-loved competitions. And the great news is that sign-ups for the 2026-2027 quiz year open in September, all you need is a team of just three members to enter.

Could your club be lifting the trophy this time next year? There's only one way to find out!

In the meantime, let's raise a glass to Keith, Glyn, and Andrew, our District Quiz Champions. Well done, team. Absolutely brilliant! 🏆
