International Day of Peace

Today is the International Day of Peace, a United Nations-recognised day dedicated to strengthening the ideals of peace among all nations and peoples.

Promoting peace is one of Rotary's core causes and areas of focus, and every year, Rotary Peace Fellows put that commitment into action. Through the Rotary Peace Fellowship, dedicated leaders from around the globe gain the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to address the root causes of conflict, strengthen communities, and build sustainable peace in many different ways.

Today #PeaceDay, we celebrate the inspiring work of Rotary Peace Fellows and Rotary peacebuilders everywhere. Together, we can help build a world where peace is more than the absence of conflict. It is the presence of opportunity, dignity, justice, and hope for all.
