Can you Help the City of Liverpool Rotary Club bring the joy of reading to more children in Liverpool ?
A good book can take a child anywhere. It can send them on an adventure, make them laugh out loud, or introduce them to ideas they never knew existed. This winter, we're asking for your help to put more of those books into the hands of local children.
About the Appeal
Give a Book - Open a World is our community book appeal for Liverpool children aged 7-11. We are collecting new and good-quality pre-loved books for Key Stage 2 pupils, and supporting a local Liverpool primary school library.
If you have books sitting on a shelf that your own children have outgrown, or you simply have a few good reads to pass on, they can find a new home with a child who will treasure them.
The Winter Book Collection runs from 16 November - 27 December 2026 so there's plenty of time to have a clear-out and pop along with a bag of books.
What Can You Donate?
We're looking for books for 7-11 year olds, including:
Adventure stories
Chapter books
Fiction
Humour
Classics
Engaging non-fiction
All books should be clean, complete and in good condition. We're unable to accept damaged or outdated books.
Where to Drop Off
Please drop off your books to The Racquet Club with a note to say they are for the Rotary Book Collection.

Help Us Spread the Word
Every book donated helps a child discover the joy of reading. Please share this appeal with friends, family, colleagues and neighbours, and help us fill a school library with stories.
Thank you for helping us to help others.
